Granville Art Affair debuted on Sunday, June 14, 2009, to an estimated crowd of 3,500 visitors.  This new, fine art show featured over 60 artists presenting their work in all artistic media categories.  Visitors were delighted with the quality and selection of art to shop and explore and also enjoyed continuous live music, a Columbus Polo match, and great food provided by caterers and vendors.   The Whatever Works Art Space tent attracted children and adults alike, trying their hand at various art projects and viewing potter demonstrations.  In summary, Granville Art Affair was a huge success.  A quote by Granville resident Debbie Haven appeared in the Granville Sentinel on Thursday, June 25, and summed up the event perfectly: "It was a great addition to our community.  I was pleased to see how many people were there enjoying the day. . . it made me proud."

One of the goals established when planning this venue was to create fund-raising opportunities for nonprofit organizations.  The Whatever Works Art Space benefited from the artist raffle.  Plans for 2010 include plans to include Granville Studio of Visual Arts and the Licking County Arts Commission.  It will also become a 2-day event as the Granville Rotary Club partners with us to present the 2010 Granville Art Affair & Wine Festival on June 12 and 13!  

Based on a sample of prize drawing entry slips, Granville Art Affair attracted 47% of its visitors from outside of Licking County.  Our strong publicity and marketing campaign proved beneficial; supportive news releases appeared in several publications including the Columbus Dispatch, Granville Sentinel, Newark Advocate, Pataskala Standard, and Marietta Times.
